Parameters

(A). What Parameters are tested ?

  1. Weld Load
  • The load at which the lubricant film ruptures. Metal to metal contact takes place, friction & temperature go up & the balls weld together.
  • This confirms the EP or load carrying limit of the lubricants as well as its “anti – scuff” properties (prevention of pitting / metallic wear due to high load conditions).
  1. Wear Scar
  • Wear seen on the three stationary balls after being subjected to rotational rubbing, with the fourth ball for 1 hour at fixed load, speed & temperature.
  • Depths of the wear scars at the point of contact are measured & an average value confirmed.
  • Lower the wear scar, better the anti-wear properties of the lubricant.
  1. Coefficient of friction
  • Ration of the force of friction between the balls & the force pressing them together. Lower values (both initial, ie.”run-in” & average) confirm smoother surfaces & lower friction levels.
  • This results in lower operating temperature, lesser wear, longer re-lubrication intervals & overall superiority of the lubrication.

(B) Relevance of Comparative “Four Ball” Tribological Testing:

  • Load, friction & wear – all three key factors of effective lubrication are scientifically assessed.
  • Therefore relative superiority & reliability of the lubricant (both greases as well as lube oils) can be scientifically confirmed. A superior lubricant can thereby be selected/developed. Lubrication thus is improved & wear is controlled.
  • Before any lubricant changeover, Tribological – “Four Ball” comparisons – under the ACR approach are therefore a scientific & safe methodology for achieving superior lubrication without any risk to the customers equipment.

Super bentone 220 HT XX – Non – melting thickener ans ISO 220 mineral base oil.

Sentinel Unitherm SL-M2 – Non-melting thickener and ISO 460 synthetic base oil.

Properties

Truly high temperature greases-never melt or squeeze out, even when the bearing temperature reaches 350°C whereas most of the competitor greases melt at 250°C.

High EP Load & Solid lubricants: – Micronized MoS2 protects the bearing from impact load at high temperature.

Operating temperature: (-) 30° C to 260° C

Applications

Plain & anti-friction bearings operating between 200 to 250°C – Hot air exhauster/blower bearing, Furnace doors, planetary mixers, bogie cars in sintering plant…..

Synthetic Water Resistant Grease

70502 (HL) High temp LC 460 Properties

Lithium Complex thickener with ISO 460 synthetic base oil. Better mechanical and shear stability-consistency remains same for longer period of time. Thermally stable, very high oxidation stability and longer lubrication life. High drop point. 300° C + very high EP load 500kgs and low wear scar -0.5mm, protects the bearings from heavy loads. Excellent water resistance, -20% better water resistance than competitor greases available in the market.

Properties

Heavy duty Lithium Complex grease with better mechanical and shear stability. High viscosity base oil provides stable and uniform film.

Solid lubricants- Micronized solid lubricants protect the bearing from very high impact and vibrational load. Very high drop point. 300◦ C + 4 Ball EPload 800 kgs+

Applications

Heavy duty plain and roller bearings in steel, cement, and construction industries……. slow moving bearings in wet and dry conditions with impact loads.

70602 (HS) Motor Lube EP100 – Lithium complex thickener with ISO 100 mineral base oil especially for heavy duty electric motor bearings.

Superquiet 100 EP – Lithium complex long life grease with synthetic ISO 100 base oil and white solid lubricants for exceptional low coefficient of friction. Energy saving.

90475 Super Spin HS – Very high speed spindle bearings in textile industries- ISO 32 synthetic base oil with friction modifiers. Speed Factor 1,000,000. CNC machines, grinding machines, electronic assemblies, metal to plastic or plastic to plastic sliding surfaces.

8022 SUPER SYN UNIVERSAL:

Lithium Complex, Synthetic base oil and white solid lubricants

Properties

Universal long life grease for ball and roller bearings for a wide range of applications. Gives 2-3 times longer lubrication life than ordinary greases. Very tacky structure provides firm film on the surface of the bearings.

Drop point – 300◦ C, High EPload. 500 kgs against 250 kgs of the leading brands. Low wear scar – 0.5 mm

Centralized Lubrication Semi-Fluid Grease

Centralized lubrication requires very smooth, lump free greases for smooth flow (pumpability) through the narrow tubes of the system and should not choke the filter.

Open Gear Lubricant

Advantage of using greases in open gears is that it forms a thin soft film on the surface of gears to protect from wear, load and friction. Traditional bitumen based open gear lubricants form a very hard brittle film which leads to breakdown – friction increases, changes in alignments and finally very difficult to do maintenance.

70302 1000/2 Super Gear 1000 – Manual lubrication- Lithium complex thickener with ISO 1000 mineral base oils and solid lubricants.

70302 1000/00 Super Gear 1000 – Automatic spray system-Aluminium Complex thickener with ISO 1000 mineral base oil and solid lubricants. Excellent pumpability and easy to spray. MoS2 & Graphite fortified. Tackiness additive for extra film strength- High load bearing capacity – 800 kgs +.

Silicone Grease

60200 VG Super High Vac is a high vacuum silicone and valve lubricant. Non-toxic, neutral to rubber and plastic components, seals, O’ rings, gaskets, pneumatic systems, stop cocks, sealant for air lines etc. Thermally stable, resistant to hot and cold water, chemically inert.

Anti-Seize Compounds

Seizing and corrosion of threaded connections, nuts and bolts are common in industries when they are disassembled after for a longtime. Anti-seize compounds are a solution to these problems.

90200 Moly Plus.Moly Assembly Paste Prevents seizing, wear, stick up in press fitting, threaded connections, guides & slideways. Heady duty press fitting of wheels. Bearings, cranes, shafts, slides, Temp: -35◦ c to 450◦ c (630◦ c solids)

Soluble Cutting Oils

Water soluble cutting oils for machining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, better cooling, better tool life, better finish and longer fluid life.

Supercut 105 – General purpose water soluble, mineral oil based soluble cutting oil. Stable milky emulsion, superior corrosion protection. Very economical, Turning, milling, drilling, boring etc. pH value. 9.5 (@ 5 % solution). Ideal working solution 5-7 % in demineralized water.

Supercut BC 4200 – Semi-synthetic soluble cutting oil- Translucent milky emulsion-better load carrying properties. 2-3 times longer suitable for heavy duty application. pH value. 9.2 (@ 5 % solution). Ideal working solution 3-5 % in demineralized water.

Supercut Syn – Synthetic soluble cutting oil, free from mineral oil, especially for cylindrical surface grinding where oil contents are not desired. pH value. 10.0 (@ 5 % solution). Ideal working solution 2-3 % in demineralized water.

Sentinel viscotherm S series

Synthetic Ep gear oils with anti-leak properties. Better fluid life than conventional EP gear oils. Low maintenance and less top up. Energy conservation. Seal compatible.

All types of gear boxes where EP type gear oils are recommended. DIN 51517 Part 3, US Steel 224, CLP Type, and ANSI/AGMA Standard 9005-E02. Enclosed Spur, bevel, helical and planetaru gear boxes in steel, cement, paper mills. Heavily loaded bearings with circulatory and splash lubrication systems.

Imp : Super WG series is recommended  For worm gear boxes where copper & its alloys are used.

High Temperature Synthetic Chain Oil

Conventional/mineral base oils are not suitable when chains are exposed to very high temperatures 200-300 deg.C. These oils form high carbon, sludge &, varnishes and burn at this temperature as leads to breakdown of chain very frequently.

TTF 1000/Stenterlube 220

Synthetic high temperature chain oil for stenter chains & paint shop conveyor chains…. thermally very stable. Application temperature upto 250◦ C.

  • No carbon & sludge formation. Load and wear protection. No residue build up in the chains.
  • Increases life of the chains thus reduces the maintenance cost.

Penetrative Wire Rope Dressing

70202 Super wire rope. Semi- fluid penetrating wire rope dressing lubricant for the protection of ropes…..

Penetrates into the cores of the wires…..Excellent load bearing capacity…… protect from corrosion…. non-melting 7 increase the life of ropes… easy to do the maintenance….

Advantage over used Bitumen/Cardium compound for the protection of wire ropes.

  1. 70202 will Penetrate into the cores of the wires will not form an outer hard film which act as a barrier when the ropes needs to be re-lubricated.
  2. 70202 will Prevent internal rusting – internal rusting causes wear – wire ropes can’t withstand load….. frequent break down…..risk to safety……
  3. 70202 is very easy to clean unlike the difficult to remove outer hard film of bitumen / cardium compounds.
